Verizon started rolling out Stock Android 6.0 Marshmallow firmware update for Droid Turbo 2. The Droid Turbo 2 is almost one of the toughest device ever released by Motorola and have a shatter proof glass, not only this but the device is packed with powerful hardware and now receiving the latest firmware. The Stock Marshmallow firmware has brought multiple new feature that would double the smartness of this device, the latest feature in Marshmallow for Droid Turbo 2 includes, Now on Tap, Doze mode and improved apps permission.
You can also access your external storage as internal and do not disturb mode, however the Droid Turbo 2 is has already an amazing battery life but with the Doze mode optimization you will get the best out of it. Previously we have posted an article on Moto G 2nd Gen discussing the the stock Marshmallow update and now it’s Droid Turbo 2 with the same topic. The Marshmallow firmware for Droid Turbo 2 is not rolling out via OTA and the update can knock at your device anytime soon but you can also give a try to manual check, the process is mentioned below.
Update Stock Android 6.0 Marshmallow on Droid Turbo 2 via OTA
To update Droid Turbo 2 on Android 6.0 Marshmallow firmware you don’t need to download multiple file for it, just you need your device and the working internet connection. You must also remember that OTA process works only on Stock devices which means your device is no longer rooted while you searching for latest firmware via OTA. If you think your device is rooted then don’t waste your time switch to alternative firmware update processes or if possible un-root it and then give it a try. But we don’t recommend you to get stuck in such a long un-rooting process just manually if the download link is available. If you think you are all set to go, then
Go to device Settings >> tap on About device >> Software updates.
Now tap it to check the latest available firmware. Upon it’s availability you will be prompted about the update, now what just tap “Download Now” to instantly download the firmware or “Download later” if you wish to download later. Some times it depends on the region too for example, if the update is released for a specific region but you are not present there it will take some delay until firmware update reaches that region.
If you have updated your device please let us know..
